There are a lot of fun Spring and Summer events throughout the Central Ohio area.

While Girth & Mirth isn't officially sponsoring outings to these events, if you're planning to go,

why not post a message to the GM Columbus Yahoo Group and enjoy the event with

some buddies? Maybe you'd like to see one of the exhibits at the Franklin Park Conservatory

or the Columbus Museum of Art. Maybe you and some jock fans would like to go see a

Crew or a Clippers game, or maybe go to a Gallery Hop. CATCO and The Wexner Center

have great offerings. How about one of the CAPA Summer movies at the Ohio Theater?

Fridays - Big Boy Coffee * 7 pm - 9 pm

Cup 'O Joe's German Village 627 S. 3rd St. Columbus 43206

Join us Friday nights at Cup 'O Joe's in historic German Village

for a non-alcoholic beverage, a snack, and some great company and

conversation. There's a friendly, inclusive atmosphere; and that good

ol'Cup 'O Joe's java we love so much. Look for a big group of men...

or is that a group of big men....anyway, we look forward to seeing you there.

Second Wednesday - Big Eats * 7 pm

Location varies. We choose a different Columbus-area eatery each month for a mouth-

watering evening of delicious food & drink and a big, fun time. Hungry? Please join us!

Fourth Saturday - Officer Meeting * 6 pm Pot Luck Social * 7 pm

Location varies. All paid members are welcome to attend and participate in the workings

of the club. All members and guests are welcome to bring their favorite covered dish or

beverage for an evening of good conversation and some great company. Join us!

Our Hosts will be making fried chicken (secret family recipe) and baked beans and will provide drinks.

Feel free to bring your family's favorite secret recipe to the picnic for a good ol' down-home family picnic

fun time.

Come join us at the world's number one Create Your Own Stir-Fry restaurant where you can choose

your own ingredients from a great variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, salads, sauces and spices.

Monthly Potluck & Social Saturday, July 24 7 pm - 9 pm

Michael will provide a variety of drinks (soda, diet soda, juice, lemonade), and will (weather permitting)

use his small backyard grill to cook out with hot dogs and hamburgers and perhaps some olive-oil coated grilled peppers (yummy). Others are welcome to bring side dishes, appetizers and desserts (but there won't be room on the grill for any other meats.) The theme of red, white and blue is OK - if it applies to clothing but not the food! (If you insist, you can add red or blue food coloring to dessert/cakes.)

July Canoe Trip Saturday, July 17 10:00 am sharp

Scioto Canoe Livery 675 West London-Groveport Road Lockbourne, Ohio 43137*

Located just minutes from downtown Columbus, the Scioto Canoe offers everyone the chance

to canoe the Scioto River. Enjoy the tree lined river and the surrounding wild life, which haven't

changed much over the last 200 years! Pack a picnic and make your canoe trip fun, exciting

and a memorable experience. $15.00 dollars a person and canoeing should last about 3

hours. Rentals include: canoe, life jackets, paddles and transportation to the beginning of the

trip site. Canoe capacity is two adults, with a combined weight of no more than 700 lbs. Cash & checks accepted.

Afterwards, if anyone wants they can come and go swimming at Ralph's Country Estate, which is just 2 miles away. Ralph will provide some snacks & refreshments, and everyone can have a relaxing afternoon by the pool!
